Gilson Daub, Inc. celebrated Earth Day by teaming up with the California State Parks at Doheny State Beach. Saturday, April 22nd marked the Park’s Native Plant Planting Day, which was made possible through a generous Earth Day grant from the California State Parks Foundation. Gilson Daub, Inc. attorneys and staff were excited to join with other community volunteers by planting trees, removing non-native plants, and participating in a beach clean up.
The Gilson Daub team had a memorable day planting an assortment of native plants, shrubs, and trees around the park. The early warm weather was a perfect backdrop for an event geared to protect one of California’s treasured beaches, which is just down the street from the Gilson Daub, Inc. Dana Point office.
Gilson Daub volunteers planted 12 trees and filled several bags of trash collected from the Doheny surfing beach and also the San Juan Creek area. Everyone had a great time at the event and hopefully the effort will inspire the next generation of California State Park stewards.
You don’t have to wait for next year’s Earth Day to get in on the clean up activities. Doheny State Park offers several similar programs throughout the year. Doheny State Beach is located at 25300 Dana Point Harbor Drive in Dana Point, California. For more information on how you can help, call 949-496-2704.
